Design Week 8: Design Semester Wrap-up
We've come a long way in eight short weeks, all working up to our goal to have the project ready for submission to the city by the end of the semester.
07/02/2019 - Day 22
Our professor Jörg and project architect Jason went through our set over the weekend and gave us redlines to help wrap everything up. We also split into groups to tackle the last outstanding items including the physical model, fixtures, furniture design, and funding. Making sure all tasks are completed this week is critical for us to be able to start construction on day one of our fall semester.
07/03/2019 - Day 23
We did it! Today we met our goal to have our building permit set compiled by the last day of the semester! There are still a few outstanding items that need to be completed such as the site survey, but in terms of drawing production we updated everything with the redlines, put it all together, and it is ready to be submitted to the city. We have all worked hard as a team to put it all together, working back and forth as each change caused changes across everyone's work. We are extremely proud of what we have been able to come up with and are excited to see it become a reality come August. Now the city will review our plans and hopefully grant us a building permit during our break before our fall semester begins. We are keeping our fingers crossed that all goes smoothly. Now we're off for summer break!
