Build Week 11: Final Campus Touches

We've done pretty much all that we can on campus before moving construction to the site. This week saw new cold weather and final touches before panel disassembly begins next week.

Week of October 29 - Days 19 & 20

We've been really lucky to have the space and resources of the shop on campus to keep us going while we wait for a permit to move to the ADU's final location. Over the past 20 days we've framed our building, put on as much sheathing as we could, prepared for electrical, built furniture, prepared metal, and so much more. Now the time has come to wrap up our campus construction and move to site with our fingers crossed that we get our permit soon, hopefully next week!
This week's final additions included the installation of more parapets on our lower roof, finishing our metal work with a protective coating, framing our upper level build outs, and more progress on the couch. Our progress was hindered a bit by record cold temperatures and snow this week, but we kept going!
Next week when we start disassembly, organization is going to be key. Every panel, joist, floor sheathing, etc. have all been labeled and diagrammed so that when it gets put back together on site it will be a smooth and clear process. We are excited to see all of our work move to its actual home, and we have our fingers crossed that the permitting process will cooperate with us and our timeline.
